About Me

I am an architect and in 2012 I completed a masters thesis on the evolution and conservation on an area of Monkstown & Dun Laoghaire's 19th century suburbs. For my doctoral thesis I am researching the influence of estate landlords on the morphology of the Victorian suburbs of South County Dublin from 1778 to 1900. I am focusing on the role of ground landlords and their agents in the evolution of large suburban areas of Dublin in the 19th century, particularly relating to architectural and suburban design, house type and street layout, analysing the priorities of the estate and its impact on the heritage character of these Victorian suburbs.
