Jo Anne Butler is an art, design and architecture practitioner.
Jo Anne is a designer and co-director of ‘Superfolk’, a material-led furniture, product and interiors practice whose work has been exhibited internationally at design events in London, Tokyo and Stockholm. Her work at Superfolk also involves marketing, brand communication and business development.
Alongside this Jo Anne works with Tara Kennedy as 'Culturstruction'; an experimental design studio situated at the intersection of architecture, art and new spatial practices.
Jo Anne is also a founder and curator of 'Commonage', a non-profit organisation commissioning art and design in a rural community context and worked as Assistant Project Manager with ‘Breaking Ground’ managing the delivery and communication of a number of ambitious art in context projects for the Ballymun Regeneration per cent for art commissioning agency.
Her interest in the social potential of design led her to study architecture at University College Dublin in 2007. Jo Anne has a BSc (Architecture) (1st Hons, 2010), MArch (2013) and was also awarded the UCD Stage 5 Architecture Scholarship Award in 2013. Prior to this Jo Anne received a BFA (Sculpture) from NCAD (1st class hons, 2005).
