About Me
Chartered RIBA Architect (ARB) and Urban Planner, Entrepreneur, PLACE NI Board member. I have over 10 years working experience in architectural and planning industry on the island of Ireland. My expertise is regeneration of post-industrial areas and stakeholder liaison. I am a versatile and experienced Chartered Architect with an extensive background and portfolio across the commercial, public and private sectors. I am accomplished in working with multiple international stakeholders. To date I have held a range of professional positions and this has provided me with a breadth of career experiences. I was instrumental in the planning and project management of a major investment scheme in Poland. Prior I was a CEO of an international organisation and worked in a tender department of a successful Irish construction firm. I have gained knowledge across a range of business segments and I am well positioned to undertake multi-functional roles. As a result of this diverse background I was recently appointed as a Part Time Lecturer at School of Planning, Architecture and Civil Engineering, Institute of Spatial and Environmental Planning at the Queen's University Belfast. I deliver lectures on the following subjects: Economy & Space, Spatial Planning, Property Development & Business Planning, European Planning Perspectives, Urban Planning, Regeneration, Planning Systems in NI, ROI and Central Europe, Place- making, Sustainable Communities, Regional Competitiveness, Sustainable Development. Regularly engaged as a speaker for conferences in NI and Poland; topics have included: “Attractiveness of investment regions in Central Europe”, “Investors’ incentives and benefits, Special Economic Zones”, “Social Town Planning”, “Housing & Planning”; Organised urban study visits to Poland, France, Spain, Morocco, Brazil and delegations of politicians & VIPs to Poland.
